New SEISS questions added

Before you file your tax return for the tax year 2020/21, there are some additional questions you need to address first.

If you received any money from the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) or any other applicable HMRC coronavirus support scheme, you would need to enter the amounts you have received – Or incorrectly received.


The three newly added questions you should be aware of are:

  1. Did you receive any money from the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme Grant?

  2. Did you incorrectly claim on any of the coronavirus support scheme payments?

  3. Any other business income (include coronavirus support payments such as CJRS, but not SEISS)

Question 3. already exists in the current tax return as the 'Any other income' question. HMRC now ask, in addition to this, to include any CJRS payments you might have received.

This is not the same as SEISS payments; CJRS is a claim for some of an employee's wages if they were put on furlough or flexible furlough because of coronavirus (COVID-19).


If you've already completed your tax profile, here's a quick way to locate any unanswered, or newly added questions.

  1. If you're using the web app – choose 'Unanswered questions' from the top of the question list on the left.

2. If you're using the mobile - choose 'See List' at the bottom of the tax profile Screen to access the question list. > then choose 'show unanswered'.
